Yoga plan for 5/6 years old kids
Prepare the room w white towels towards the teacher (you or another person). Prepare a CD music player.
1. Make the children take off their shoes be4 enter in the room.
2. Make the children enter in a "magical world" by telling them to go through a hoola hoop in the room.
3. Tell the children to choose a white towel and their towel are their bedroom and they cant move away from their bedroom.
4. Pretend u take shower w them by asking them "what do we do immediately after when we get up from the bed ? - Shower!"
5. Ask the children what are their fave color and tell them we are going to pain our bedroom w our fave color. Put music and jump up and down moving ur legs and arms.
6. Ask them "how small can you be?" - how small can u be, how tall and u be, how wide can u be...? and make the movements w them.
7. Choose carefully animals poses that the children can do:
tree/cat/dog/lion/rabbit/stone/sandwich/butterfly/wing...Have a very short song 4 each animal pose. Use bean bags to put on children's head while doing animals poses, so they find their balance.
8. Put background very low relaxation music and explain to the children the importance of our body. Show them how to massage our body. Give examples why we need to massage it: back carries heavy school bags w books/our feet make us walk/our hands also are very important 4 us/eyes, without them we cannot see or our ears, bec without them we cannot hear...
9. Ask the children to lie down in their backs and close their eyes. Read a very short relaxation yoga story and let them enjoy :)
